OARS
would sincerely like to thank Matt Stover, the Baltimore Ravens kicker,
for coming to RTBC on May 3rd. Speaking to a riveted audience of 200,
Stover spoke about not finding true happiness in life until he started
a personal relationship with Christ. Amidst countless humor-filled
stories, Stover described his ascension to being one of the best NFL
kickers of all time. He raved about his children's lacrosse skills and
bragged about the fact he once broke his helmet tackling Dante Hall. He
spoke of Super Bowls, Pro Bowls and NFL records while stating that even
amidst those things, the most important thing in football to him is
praising God every time he attempts a kick, no matter whether the
result is good or bad. Stover fielded questions from the audience
addressing everything from proper kicking technique (live demonstration
included) to whether he likes to fish (consider that a resounding yes).
Then, ever so graciously, Stover sat, signing autographs and taking
pictures with anyone who got in line. And with that, a great night
concluded with a big OARS thank you extending to Matt Stover and his
family.
