Work has begun on the softball field. Lots of flattening and seeding need to be done, and as you can tell from this picture, this summer has been a little dry!
Gym Finished
Tuesday, 07 August 2007
So we're a little slow on the update, but our Gym is finished! We've actually been using it for quite a few months and just haven't taken the proper pictures to get some information put up here. This is what it looks like today:
For now, it only has the basketball and volleyball lines on the floor. Our nice new volleyball net sticks into the floor, although it's starting to show some signs of wear from how much we've been playing!
Basketball hoops
Thursday, 01 March 2007
The hoops are getting installed, the flooring has been delivered, and the sleeves for the volleyball court are getting put in! It's amazing how fast this is all coming together. Next week is when the floor is scheduled to start installation!
Thank you for all your support!
Gym usage approval
Monday, 08 January 2007
Join us in rejoicing in God's blessings, the gym is coming along and will be available soon! Right now we are cleaning it up for usage in the Winter Relief program, but after that's over, we should be able to use it at least on a limited basis.
Good news is also that we've found a potential donor for some volleyball equipment. This includes, a net, posts, and some holes in the floor to put them in! Now all we need is a floor (although concrete works, albeit a little hard). We had a bunch of donations roll in at the end of the year, I guess everyone wanted an extra tax break in 2006. Our current total is around $6000, so we're only another $25,000 or so from our goal.
Gym update
Thursday, 19 October 2006
We were in the Gym a little bit last night and it's starting to look good. A lot of the construction materials are getting placed in their proper homes and we're getting some new walls! We are putting a racquetball surface on the walls in order to help protect them. There have already been some 20 yard touchdown passes thrown (and caught too!).... Arena football anyone?
